I’ve been preaching video for over a decade. In fact my former partner and I started doing a weekly livestream called RealTechTV back in 2010 on platforms that don’t even exist any more.🤯🤯 I can assure you that the quality of the phone in your pocket is far superior to anything we were using. You can now take 4k video at 120 frames/second. If you don’t know what that means, it just means a really good freaking video.👍

The iPhone (and the others) have even come out with features like the
Bokeh effect which focuses on the person or subject in the foreground, and blurs the background. This is very popular amongst YouTubers because it was originally a high end feature limited to DSLR and expensive mirrorless cameras.

Ok, so your video is great, but what about the audio?

Audio has been my forever nemesis. Your content can be fantastic and video quality stellar, but if the viewer can’t hear you or your quality sucks, they’re going to change the channel. 😔

I’ve literally spent $1000’s of dollars on microphones. The issue is that the interfaces don’t always play nice. Two years ago, I finally settled on the Zoom PodTrack P4 and Rode PodMics. This is a fantastic setup for sit down style interviews with pro level results, but what about run and gun or recording audio on the go? 🤔

I’ve gone through a couple different mobile mics. The Shure MV88 does fantastic in noisy or crowded environments like a real estate conference, but requires you to stay fairly close to the subject aka it’s great at selfie style videos.

Next I bought the Saramonic Blink 500 Pro, these are actually amazing wireless lavalier mics that plug into your phone using an adapter, but that is why I don’t love them. I always lose the stupid adapter! My only other complaint is that it doesn’t record the audio directly to the device as a backup…I’ve lost audio on more than one occasion and nothing is more frustrating. 💀

Back to my SSS (shiny shhhhtuff syndrome)...It’s 2023 and a new set of wireless mics from Anker were just announced and I’m 100% going to buy them. These are the Anker M650 mics and solve all of the problems that I complain about with the Saramonics.

Stay tuned for a review, and if you want to buy any of my hand me downs on the cheap, let me know!

[E]ducation:

I’m going to keep education short and sweet this week. OAR just released their winter eZine (electronic magazine) and I truly believe this is a must read for agents.

You just attended a real estate conference…now what?

It’s easy to get caught up in the hype and be paralyzed on the execution when you return.

It seems like in today’s competitive real estate market, everyone is trying their knack at being a realtor. This can be extremely tough especially when trying to attract potential clients. 🙄 With a little extra effort and some soul searching, you can find exactly what makes you unique and offer something that no one else is.

Here are some tips that may help you stand out as a top real estate agent:

  1. Build a strong personal brand: Establish yourself as an expert in your niche market by creating a professional and memorable personal brand that reflects your values and unique skill set. 👍

  2. Leverage technology: Use the latest technology tools to enhance your marketing efforts and offer personalized experiences to your clients. This includes utilizing social media platforms, email marketing, virtual tours, drone footage and video marketing. I sat down with Madison Eisenman who has mastered focusing on her niche and perfecting her own form of video marketing. 📹

  3. Provide excellent customer service: Always prioritize your clients' needs and make sure they feel heard and valued throughout the buying or selling process. This includes responding to their queries promptly, keeping them updated on progress, and providing them with valuable insights. 😊😊

  4. Build a network: Networking is essential in the real estate industry, so be sure to attend local events, join real estate groups, and collaborate with other professionals to expand your reach and build meaningful relationships. 🤝

  5. Be adaptable: The real estate market is ever-changing, so be willing to adapt to new trends and technologies to stay relevant and provide the best service and marketing to your clients. 😇

There are just a few strategies that can help set yourself apart from the competition and build your brand. Ultimately, figuring out what exactly you can offer and provide to your clients will be something you will have to think on.

Assess your skill set, analyze who you usually find yourself networking or mingling with, and offer an experience that will be targeted towards your niche.
