I’m not buying the iPhone. 📱

I’m buying the new camera Apple is releasing…it just happens to have a phone with it.

Unless you live under a rock, Apple announced the new iPhone 16 and the focus was heavier than normal on the camera. They even went as far as to add a button/slider for camera controls. 🫢

But that’s not even my favorite feature…⬇️⬇️

Upgrading the UltraWide camera to 48MP is a welcome upgrade for real estate/video tours, but the real star is Audio Mix. As someone who has spent thousands of dollars on microphones over the years, they are a bit of a thorn in my side. Audio Mix will hopefully solve all of my problems. It allows you to add three different filters in post-production:

Pair that with the four new microphones that Apple describes as “studio-quality”, and the iPhone will be a true video powerhouse.

The next feature is so simple I can’t believe it hasn’t been a feature already…it’s just a border that shows different Social Media sizes. We frequently shoot in landscape but crop video to portrait for TikTok and Reels…this will ensure that we always get the shot. 🎥

Don’t believe me? Check out the Weeknd’s new music video shot on the new iPhone 16 Pro.

Full review and examples coming soon ;)

[E]ducation:

Clear cooperation is in the headlines (again). This time, the CEO’s of exp and Compass disagree. There is still a ton of uncertainty and change looming. Some good, some not so good. Regardless, you should be prepared.

Check out Jared James take on it here:

Another thing to keep an eye on. Expired listings are on the rise. Time to sharpen your pencil and prospecting skills and no one better to learn from than the one and only Jimmy Mackin:

Change can be scary, or it can be an opportunity. You choose your mindset.

[C]oaching:

We’ve gone live a couple times now, but Nimesh decided he wanted to be more than a full time guest on Ty Talk…so much like coming up with a band name, we went back and forth for days before arriving on The Broker Buzz.

So join us tomorrow for our first ever Live Podcast @ 2PM:

We’ll have some of our homies join us and cover anything from marketing and industry changes to random banter and technology we’re utilizing.

[H]ow To: With Abby

I’ve previously done a segment on the reasons you should go live rather than just recording your videos. I’m here to push that point again. We recently sat down with Jessica Maloney and Stephanie Clemens from the Dayton, OH area, and they always go live. They rarely record and edit videos later; they specifically just go live. ⬇️⬇️

Their live videos mainly revolve around visiting local coffee shops ☕ to try them out or coming to the office to make cocktails based on upcoming events. We didn’t mention this in the video, but a canned margarita company recently sent them free drinks to try on camera. That just shows the exposure they’re getting by going live.

Going live can be intimidating, but following in Jess and Steph’s footsteps by going live and doing something makes it much easier. We always encourage going off the cuff and doing video whenever, but I do think that when you’re going live, you need at least some kind of plan for what you’re going to say or do. 💬 Having a plan also helps ease the nerves because you’ll feel more prepared. I DON’T think you need a script, but having an outline of what you’re going to do makes a big difference.

If I were a real estate agent, here are some live video ideas I would try:

  1. Visit all the local coffee shops in town, grab their most popular fall drinks, and taste them in your car. ☕

  2. Tour the neighborhood around your latest listing.

  3. Showcase the best food your area has to offer. For example, when a new hole-in-the-wall burger place opened recently, it was the talk of the town for months. I would’ve gone live trying their burger as soon as it started trending. 🍔

  4. Highlight anything new that just opened in the area. Did that park down the street finally open after being under construction for five years? Go live and give a tour. (be careful filming in parks though with children lol) 👀

  5. Local activities. Currently the festival season is at its peak in our area. Go live while walking around and talk about some of the things to do.

These are more generic ideas but think about your niche and the type of people you surround yourself with. What are their interests? What would they want to know?

Here is a sneak peak of what will be on next week’s Tech with Ty. ⬇️⬇️ AI made us a podcast...🤯
