Yesterday, I stumbled upon a post in the Cincinnati Agents Discussion Facebook Group, and I couldn’t agree with Brett Keppler more…
“The way NAR handled this settlement was complete BS. Hanging the largest companies in the industry out to dry was so shortsighted.”
What Brett is referring to is the fact that brokers over $2B in sales were offered no protection or support in the class action lawsuits.
“The NAR settlement abandoned the largest 92+/- brokers in the country, who ended up paying millions from their own P&Ls, effectively turning these brokerages into simmering enemies,” said Phillip Cantrell, founder of Benchmark Realty.
This is vastly different from the major brands settling. They settled mainly because of their requirement to be members of NAR and/or training materials aligned with NAR practices that allegedly inflated commissions.
If the most significant brokers in the country are left to fend for themselves, why should they continue to be a members of NAR? They’re essentially being punished for being successful…❌
What happens if those companies all leave NAR?
Robert Reffkin, CEO of Compass, publicly said, “My view is that Zillow is going to be the MLS. It's only a matter of time." He then went on to ink a deal with Zillow for Rentals and lay off 450 people.

I started watching Tom Ferry’s latest video, Prune to Prioritize Growth: Cutting Out the Junk and immediately thought he was talking about going to the fridge…not cutting out the junk as junk food, but going to the fridge and seeing a fridge full of food and saying, “We have nothing to eat”. He uses the same analogy with going to the closet and finding nothing to wear. 👕
Not only does this video feature the likes of Jason Pantana and Jimmy Macking, but I could listen to Matt Nicol talk all day.

I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but Instagram recently changed its formatting. Instead of the traditional 1080 x 1080 pixel size, they have now switched to 1080 x 1350 pixels.
Your previous content is completely fine and won’t be deleted for being out of format. However, you may experience some unwanted cropping, as seen on our Agent After Hours Instagram. ⬇️

As you can see, our content is still there, but there are weird spaces, and the cropping is a bit off. If you already have content that you’ve been reusing to post on Instagram but don’t want to create everything from scratch, Canva lets you resize all of your old designs. 💡
All you have to do is look at the top left of your screen, where you should see a “Resize” button. To use this feature, you’ll need a Canva Pro account. Click “Resize,” type in “Instagram Post,” and Canva will automatically apply the correct formatting size. Then, click “Resize” again. You may need to manually adjust a few elements due to cropping, but this method is far easier than resizing everything one by one.
Why did Instagram do this? 🤔
Interestingly, this change happened around the same time TikTok was banned. While there’s speculation, Instagram is clearly pushing for Reels to become more popular. To achieve this, they are making their formatting across all content more vertical—similar to Reels. This is why they have opted for a more vertical shape.
Social media is always evolving, so it’s important to keep updating your content and staying on top of trends to avoid falling behind.
