I find cool stuff all of the time and write about a lot of it in Tech with Ty, but never really had a reliable outlet to reshare articles or posts that I stumbled on…I’ve decided Threads is going to be that outlet, so if you want to see more Tech with Ty like content more frequently.

[T]echnology:

I can’t believe I’m about to write this section…but this is the closest I’ve ever been to switching back to an Android. 😮

I know I have Shiny Shi…Stuff Syndrome, and while utility wise, I can hold off on a folding phone until Apple comes out with one next year, it’s the AI features where Google has me going gaga.

Nothing Apple promised last year has come to fruition, and now they’re tossing around the idea of integrating Gemini, so why not go all in?

Can I get over green texts? Do I need an intervention?

Help! 😭

Unless Apple has an ace up its sleeve for its event in two weeks, they completely dropped the ball on the AI front.

Meanwhile…Google just launched Nano Banana…

[E]ducation:

I know this isn’t “new” news, but that fact that this is still happening means we (agents) aren’t doing enough to educate our clients.

But Tyler, I have a disclosure on the bottom of every email I send - NO ONE CARES. 😭

We’re in a day and age where you’re lucky if your client reads your full email, let alone looks at your disclosure or inspects where the email comes from. This needs to be a VERY deliberate conversation with your client that there is a VERY real possibility that someone will send them a scam email.

Here’s a quick checklist: ⬇️⬇️⬇️

  • Have the conversation out loud: “You will get scam emails about wiring. Do not trust them. Always verify first.”

  • Phone verification rule: never wire money without calling the title company on a known phone number (not the one in a potentially scam email -write it into the contract!!!) to confirm.

  • Send a simple reminder the week of closing: “Reminder: We will never email wire instructions. Always confirm by phone.”

  • Title company reinforcement: loop in the title company early, so they repeat the same warning.

Let’s work together to eradicate these horrific stories!

[C]oaching:

Hey, remember that time I told you to do video…

Brokers - make a video like this for your agents. Agents - make a video like this for your clients: ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Be the news.

Instead of waiting on sensationalized headlines to cause panic and confusion amongst your agents and clients, be the trusted news source that they depend on to decipher what’s really going on. 🔈

This isn’t hard…we had no idea what we were going to talk about, but I started the conversation with a simple question we all get…”How’s the market?” This morphed into an incredible masterclass on what agents can be doing right now to generate business (and an awkward rendition of Between Two Ferns courtesy of Dan Bertelson).

Instagram is kind of notorious for being the copycat platform (Threads like X, Reels after TikTok)—and they’re back at it again! They've just introduced a new feature where you can link a Reel within another Reel. It’s very similar to how YouTube allows you to suggest a video during the duration of another video, giving you a chance to promote more of your content.

How do you do it? ⬇️⬇️⬇️

It's super easy. Just click the three dots at the bottom right of your posted Reel, select the Reel you want to link, and add a title (this is what will pop up for people to click on). It’s a simple but powerful way to promote your other videos. 🔈

Instagram has also added a few other features you might’ve noticed. You can now “repost” (basically like retweeting) posts so your friends and followers can see them. I think this is a great addition to help creators gain more traction and build engagement—it adds a more interactive feel to the app.

Another new feature: Instagram now shows people’s locations, similar to Snapchat. 📍 Personally, I’m not a fan of this and don’t see much value in it. But don’t panic—you can turn this off (and I highly recommend that you do). Not really sure anyone needs hundreds of potentially random people knowing their location 24/7. Follow the instructions here to disable it.

And yes, in my instance it automatically turned this feature on. I had to go in manually and turn it off after it was added. (not an invasion of privacy or anything haha).
