Will iOS 17 be the death of the business card? ⬇️⬇️

This past week Apple announced their new Vision Pro VR headset with a ridiculous price tag of $3500! 💀💀 To answer the question I posed last week…

NO…Apple will not make VR mainstream with a price tag that large. 

One of the other things that I mentioned was that Apple usually waits to adopt new technology and then usually touts it as revolutionary, lol. 🤣

Although, I know Android fans will rejoice that I am admitting they had a useful feature first, the addition of tapping your phone to another to share your contact information will be the one thing coming out of WWDC that Apple will make mainstream. 📱

The one thing Apple is sure to do is to make the process seamless. You’re even able to customize your contact card to make it memorable. There’s nothing worse than endlessly scrolling through your contacts because you can't remember someone’s name.

Possibly an unpopular opinion, but no one likes carrying around business cards, and the majority of the time, they end up in the trash anyway. 🚮 

“Name Drop” may just make them closer to obsoletion. However, I’ll keep my Blinq subscription until everyone can learn to play nicely together.

I’ve been posting updates in this education section mostly from Ohio Realtors for 20 weeks now. I know social events are fun, but this is $75 every agent should spend. ⬇️

You would be surprised at how many agents don’t use Instagram, let alone have one. They feel their audience isn't there, so why should they be? 🤷 

Did you know Instagram is the most downloaded app in the world, followed by TikTok. Did you also know that 47% of American adults use Instagram?

So, maybe you should be on Instagram? ⬇️⬇️

First things first, make sure your Instagram is set to "professional". 👔

  • Open your Instagram

  • Click "Edit Profile", under your bio.

  • Click "Switch to professional account"

Why do you need your Instagram set to professional? 🤔

  • Your page will look more professional (contact/message button)

  • Access to analytics

  • Links will be able to be added to your stories

  • Ability to create Instagram ads

  • Schedule posts

Now that that's out of the way let's touch up your profile… 💄 

WHAT SHOULD YOU HAVE ON YOUR PROFILE? 🖼️

  • Professional looking profile picture

  • One sentence bio

  • Website link

  • Address (optional)

  • Message button

  • Contact information

     

HOW DO YOU EDIT YOUR PROFILE? 🔨

  • Click "Edit Profile" located under your profile

  • Link your Facebook business page under "Public business information"

  • Add "Real Estate Agent" as a category

  • Fill out "Contact options"

  • Click "Done" on the top right 

Now that your profile is cleaned up🛁, what should you be posting and how often?
The usual recommendation for users is to post every day. I, however, know that people are busy, and I don’t think it’s necessary. Posting every day is overkill and will oversaturate you.💀Your followers will begin to become annoyed seeing your posts day after day. Therefore, I would start three times a week and grow to 4-5 times a week. Again, posting doesn’t always have to be on the feed. You can post onto your story, reels, or Instagram live, and that still counts as one of your posts.

WHERE DO I GET GRAPHICS TO POST? ⬇️⬇️

  • Create graphics on Canva.com, completely free to use unless you want to unlock pro features.

  • Go to www.agentafterhours.com/shop to purchase already created content packages.

WHAT TYPE OF CAPTIONS SHOULD I WRITE ON MY POSTS?

  • Shorter is better, three sentences or less.

  • Use emojis, one or two per caption. 😊🥰😎

  • Ensure the caption is relevant to the post.

     

Following all of these steps will give you a great foundation to start growing your Instagram.
